Yes You Can

Every time I tell myself I cannot do something, it turns out I am always right! 100 percent of the time. When I say, I cannot, I am correct. Now I realize, many times, I was giving myself excuses not to try.

Old Habits Die Hard

After a while, not trying something because I told myself I could not do it became a bad habit. It is incredibley efficient and effective. If I thought of trying something that made me uncomfortable or caused me a little bit of fear... I would just say those magic words. I cannot do it. Boom! Problem solved! Back to the same old same old life and same old me. My brain was afraid of change.

I wanted to quit smoking but, I cannot. Quit drinking, I cannot. Find a new job, I cannot. Move to a new town? I cannot.

Do you get the idea? My same old, same old brain was great a coming up with reasons why I can not do something. I spent 10 years complaining about my own life and many of the things I complained about were easily solved. The first part was to start telling myself I can!

Reframing Negative Statements

When I began listening to positive thinking meditations my first thought was, this will never work. I need to ask myself why I was so entrenched in negativity that I would not even think about being positive. It was tough work. I started small and instead of saying I cannot, I would say I have trouble with, or I need to learn how to do. Suddenly my life became much easier and a lot more fun!

I started saying, I can, to a lot more of life. I found a job, I financed a loan for a car, I formed a company, I built the websites for that company, , I found my way out of the projects and now, I am living on the coast of Spain! This is two years after I started thinking positive. It is not magic but the changes in my attitude and outlook on life were magical! Today I cannot, I mean, I have trouble staying in bed in the morning because I want to get up and enjoy more of the magic.

Thank Yourself for Being Yourself

Sometimes you need to give yourself a big pat on the back and look back at the things you have accomplished which you had told yourself in the past were impossible. Look at how many impossible things you have done!

How many impossible things have you done today?!
